The baby still hasn't turned head down. If she doesn't turn, I'll have to have a c-section. The midwives and the doctors they work with will deliver a frank breech baby (which she is), but not if its your first vaginal delivery. I'm 36 weeks today so I have a little time for her to turn, but we're getting down to the wire. I have my weekly appointment with the midwives Thursday, and if she hasn't turned by then, I'll have to meet with one of the OBs they work with and get an ultrasound so we can establish a game plan.
Can't something just go normal for once? I really really really want this baby to come into the world the traditional way. There was something about conceiving with so much help that has really driven me to want to experience a birth with as little intervention as possible. And now I feel like my body may be failing me again. Its so discouraging.
To add insult to injury, my mother could not be happier. I swear. She was never comfortable with me seeing midwives instead of a OBGYN. Which is ironic because her sister was a midwife before she passed away, so she knows what training they have and how capable they are. But never the less she is a doctor, so she's wants me cared for by doctors. She's told me like 6 times that i should just go ahead and schedule the c-section date, and that this baby is not going to turn. I'm like, oh geez, thanks. Way to think positive.
Obviously I'm going to do what's in the best interest of the baby, but I just wish she would turn so I could at least try to deliver her vaginally with little intervention. Please say a little prayer for us.

have you checked out spinningbabies.com? There are techniques you can do to turn a breech baby on that website. Prenatal chiropractic helps too!
GL (with the turning and the mom stuff). My mom's been tellling me how much my pregnancy is "just like hers" for months now. Really? Cause you were EVER pregnant with twins? Hmmm....
I really hope I don't make my daughter as crazy as my mother makes me.
Stick to your guns if you can. I plan on following a similar plan to yours when the time comes (have a midwife, as minimal intervention as possible etc). I hope she turns soon. I am so excited for you Lindsay!!!!
Ooh doesn't the membrane stripping hurt?
I'll be hoping everything works out for the best for you and your baby!
Nikki has given you some great info. Fingers crossed that she turns and it all works out houw you want it. Best of luck!
I'll be praying for you. I know what you mean about really wanting a vaginal delivery. I was the same way. I really hope she turns so you can experience that. Thinking of you a lot hun!
We are praying for you and our sweet Lillian. I also agree that there may be some destiny for all women to grow up to drive their daughters crazy when it comes to the motherhood transition...
I vote for you trying the tips from niki and hope for the best! Just know that no matter how Lillian came into this world, no one can take away the special way that you will parent her. And that's what really counts.
I really hope she cooperates and decides to flip - I just got an email today from one of the many websites that said babies can definitely flip this late. And I feel like doctors can flip babies??? I have heard that, but I am not an expert.
I hope you get to execute your birth wishes...but regardless of how she gets here, she will be here SO soon and that's exciting! But I know it doesn't change your desires for how that happens.
