My new love

OMG. I am in love. I was recently browsing Whole Paycheck trying to find something that look appetizing, when this yogurt caught my eye. OMG, the honey totally makes the Greek yogurt. How could I have gone this long with out knowing this deliciousness existed. I used to eat the plain Fage 0% with slivered almonds when I was doing South Beach, but this is 10000 times more scrumptious. Might I recommend you all try some.

Things with me are going well. The nausea has subsided, which has been a wonderful blessing. I also haven't had any spotting since last Wednesday! I actually started walking again on Saturday which is helping to boost my spirits. I must admit I am still a little terrified something is wrong with the baby (for no reason at all). Not having an ultrasound every week definitely helps to raise your anxiety level! I actually got a Hi Bebe doppler from a girl on one of my chat boards so I may try that in the next few days just for fun. Don't worry, I won't freak out if I can't find the heart beat. I know its pretty early still ;-)

Shopping and a Theory

I made my first trip to the Destination Maternity store yesterday. I've been feeling gross in all my pre-pregnancy clothes. So I decided to stop in since I was at a meeting near there. They were having a great sale on there summer items so I was able to scope up 3 dresses, a skirt and pair of capris for $123. Pretty good deal I thought. I was rushing to get home, so I may go back this weekend and see what else I can fine. I wear summer clothes into Nov/Dec because it so hot here, so its worth getting some stuff now.

Ella was desperately trying to get me to thrown her toy ;-)

I'm actually wearing the green dress today and my friends at work who know I am PG were all commenting how cute it was. When I told them it was maternity they were shocked because it looked like a normal flowy dress!

Now to my theory.... I had some more bright red spotting yesterday. I'm starting to think maybe its the ultrasounds aggravating something up there. Last week I had a little red blood mixed with CM on Tuesday. Went in for the ultrasound and Wednesday ended up with a lot of bright red spotting. This week I went in Tuesday for my ultrasound and Wednesday I ended up with bright red spotting. Just a theory. Hopefully I'm done with vaginal ultrasounds, so I won't be able to test my theory out.

I graduated!

I graduated from my RE yesterday. It was really sad because I loved him and the office, but I am relieved to not go there all the time anymore. My RE said to make sure to get back on BCPs as soon as possible after the baby comes to control my endo and when we are ready to try for #2 to come back as soon as I go off the BCPs. He's in the process of transitioning to his baton rouge office, so I hope he'll still be around when its time to try for #2.

The ultrasound looked good yesterday although they did note some Nuchal Thickening. It was only at 1.1mm, so they didn't think there was any cause for concern. I sent the records to my OB to see what he thinks. He'd previously recommended not doing the NT scan, so we'll see if this changes his mind.

So I guess now its on to life as a normal pregnant lady. I didn't ask my OB how frequently I will get ultrasounds, but I get at least one more between now and the anatomy scan. I still can't believe I'm really here.

Mom to the rescue

I can't remember if I've mentioned it before or not on here, but my mom is a Doctor. I called her once my OBGYN's nurse called me back because I was pretty upset. She was not taking no for an answer and started making calls. She called Dr. C based on the recommendation of one of her nurses who has delivered her last 2 children with him. She explained what was going on, and he immediately agreed to see me. Turns out he and his wife went to my RE and conceived both their children with him so he understands where I am.

So I went in to see him around 3pm. While I was in the waiting room my RE's office called me back and offered to see me tomorrow for a pelvic exam and U/S but I explained that I was at an OBGYNs to do just that, so I'm going to just see them next week for my final appointment. Dr. C's nurse took me back quickly and did an internal exam. He said everything looked and felt good but he did see some brown blood. Then he had me go get an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech was really thorough and took her time. They found a small subchorionic hemorrhage which they said is probably the cause of the bleeding. They said it is relatively small and should heal itself. He said I should anticipate some more bleeding. I am resting the rest of today and tomorrow, but he said that is more for my mental well being than it is medically necessary.

The ultrasound machine was different, so I was able to see some cool new views of the baby. It was also wiggling its little arms and legs which was really neat to see.

So it looks like I've found a new OBGYN. I have mixed emotions about leaving my old one. When I'm in the room with her, I love her. But her not seeing me today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I always have a hard time getting in to see her, and this is the third time I've felt blown off by her office. The good news is I feel really comfortable with Dr. C and look forward to seeing him again in 4 weeks.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them.

Spotting - Updated

So I haven't spotted at all up until Monday (right at 9 weeks). I had a little bit of spotting Monday, but figured it was just from a busy weekend in NYC. Then yesterday when I wiped I had a decent amount of bright red blood. I freaked out and went to my REs. He wasn't in but I was able to get an U/S and speak with the nurse. Luckily the baby looked great, but they couldn't figure out why I was spotting. The nurse and U/S tech gave me a good scolding about doing to much (apparently walking around NYC for the weekend is not on the approved activity lists) and then sent me home to lay down for the rest of the day.

9 weeks 1 days

Today I am having even more bright red spotting. My RE is still out of town so I called my OBGYN to see if I can get in with her to do an internal exam today. I'm not supposed to see her until the 19th, but her nurse said she'd talk with her and see if they could squeeze me in or if she thought I should go to the ER. So now I am sitting here, panicking waiting for the nurse to call me back. Say a little prayer for us.

UPDATE:
The nurse finally called me back and said the doctor couldn't see me, so if i was really concerned I could go to the ER. ummm, thanks but no. Anyway, I'm at home resting. I called my RE's nurse and she said everything is probably fine but she'd talk to my RE and get back to me. I hate being one of those crazy pregnant ladies.

1st Baby Gifts

This weekend I got my first two baby gifts. My family arrived in NYC before me and DH so they could go to the Yankees' game Friday afternoon. My mom decided she could no longer resist to buy things for the baby so she got him/her a Yankee's onesie. My whole family has decided its a boy, so she went with the boy version. Very cute! When I got home from NYC, I went to pick Ella up from my aunt's who was gracious enough to puppy sit for us. She gave me a present she had gotten for me in Vegas the week before... a cute red M&M onesie which she decided was gender neutral enough that she could buy it!! Hahaha. It so nice to have so many people excited for us. Once we cross the 1st trimester mark I'm sure it will become harder for me to resist buying for the baby as well!
