First Week at Daycare

Lillian just finished her first week in daycare and it was quite an eventful week!! I am very lucky to have wonderful daycare on-site at work, and we were very lucky to get a spot. We've actually been on the waiting list last May because the waiting list is notoriously long.

Lillian on her first day

Her first day at daycare was on Monday. She woke up around around 5:30am and after a feeding we both fell back asleep for another two hours. When I woke up I realized I better get up and moving if I was going to get her to daycare any time that morning! I had defrosted some milk for her bottles the night before because I wanted to make sure to send her with more than I thought she would really need. Unfortunately when I went to poor the milk into the bottles it shot over the bottle opening and spilled over the counter. So I tried again, reminding myself this time to be really careful... and what happened?! I spilled it again! I lost an entire ounce of milk to my clumsiness! So Lillian went to daycare with one bottle a little short. After that I loaded her up and we headed towards daycare. But not before reversing out of my driveway and promptly into my neighbors car which was parked across the street from my driveway.  Yes, you read that right. Lillian's first day at daycare was also the first day she was in a car accident. Not.Good. Needless to say, when I showed up to daycare I was pretty frazzled. I had all these things that I had wanted to tell them....like how she likes to lay on a play-mat, or that she hates a pee-pee diaper. But I forgot everything and basically dropped her off and bolted out of there. But not before realizing I had forgotten my check book which was needed to pay for daycare! Woops!! It was a pretty rough morning!!

The good news is the rest of the week went relatively smoothly. I started work on Wednesday so we had a few practice runs getting her there before we had to get us both there. The biggest challenge now is that she's still waking up between 3-4am for a feeding, so that is making waking up at 6am to get ready for work pretty challenging. I'm hoping that in the coming weeks she decides to drop that feeding, but until then I may just have to figure out a better way to cover my undereye circles! LOL.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sorry you had such a rough first day, but I'm sure it will get easier and that picture of your sweet girl is the best. :)

Oh you poor thing. That's rough! I will say that Andrew did the 4am feeding thing too. Actually he started it as soon as I went back to work, which was when he was 6 months! Hopefully that will go away for you soon. Hang in there!

I'm glad it got easier after the first day. I hope it continues to improve. xo
